It's not as good as 'Tommy', but whereas that's a conceptual piece which requires listening to all the way through, this is much more just a collection of great rock tracks. The opening and closing songs are the peak of the bands achievements. The other two less well known greats available here are `My Wife' and 'Behind Blue Eyes'. The bonus tracks add little and I don't usually bother with them; a good decision to leave them off in the first place! This album comes recommended to newcomers to The Who as well as being essential for fans.

This album for years now has been in my view their best work,it came at a time where music had came through the sixties and post Beatles etc.
The Who kept the trademark sound of soon to be called "britpop" but moved on somewhat to a rock anthem sound and with "wont get fooled" gave working class people a realistic message, not to trust middle class politics that give false hope, that things will get better if you just accept victorian values.
What this album still does is make you feel as Lennon said ...."a working class hero"......George Irving.

The Who at the finest, a truely classic british rock album, yes some of the tracks will be on a best of but the album is still worthy of being in any music lovers collection.

Released in August 1971 and without doubt one of that year's best releases (though there were a lot of good albums that appeared at that time), this also one of The Who's very best albums, alongside 'Live at Leeds' and 'Quadrophenia'. Originally intended to be Pete Townshend's 'Lifehouse' project which was subsequently aborted, all 9 cuts on 'Who's Next' are outstanding. From the opening track 'Baba O'Reilly' through to the magnum opus that is 'Won't Get Fooled Again', these are among the finest of the group's work.
In all 'Who's Next' is a timeless piece of work which deserves to be part of any serious music collection. The heavy 180 gram vinyl pressing that is now available delivers outstanding quality far superior to the CD editions of the album. Classic hard rock at its best!

This is probably the penultimate GREAT original Who album. Each previous release had continued the band on an upward creative journey to rock superstardom. Crammed full of brilliant tracks and crowned by two of the best rock anthems ever recorded:- Baba O'Riley and Won't get fooled again. Superb stuff!
