There are many a singer who can have voices that you like to hear, but with Melody Gardot she does the other important thing ... that is sing songs the way you want them sung. This is album full of songs that catch your attention for that very reason. There is a nuance in her voice that can make you smile, it has an edge or a lilt which is uniquely hers. If this album is anything to go by she will soon get a much wider audience, and hopefully she will be around for a long time to come.

Stumbled on Melody Gardot on BBC4 American Song Book series. The best (decidedly not Judy Garland) rendition of Over the Rainbow I've ever heard, and the rest of the album doesn't disappoint.
