I've seen seasick Steve a few time now on tv and on stage and he comes across as a really nice down to earth guy that has a real talent for music I love the tunes on this album but I get a bit bored hearing the little stories about his life on the street after playing this cd a few times over though. Its just like listening to my father tell me the same thing over and over again! I just wish I could use the skip button on him as I do on this cd to get to the entertaining stuff!

I bought this album primarily because his newest release was temporarily out of stock. I admit I was influenced by an interview on TV and his 'downhome' style, and he seems like such an easy going guy. As easy going as most homeless bums are, and the fact he's an American, and I like Americans...well, most of 'em. Anyway, in spite of the fact that I like blues, do an occasional blues show on radio, I can't say I particularly liked this album. There's a certain sameness about it which becomes boring, and after all, the lyrics are the doggerel of a bona fide loser...up to the point where millions buy his albums. So, who's the loser-really? If you like genuine loser blues, the tinniness of a handmade guitar, and whisky-washed baritone, you'll like this. And he is a nice guy, it would seem.

I have already purchased Steve's albums 'Man From Another Time' and 'I Started Out with Nothin....' so I wanted to hear some of his earlier work. With this album I was not disappointed, the album is quite raw and stripped back to basic blues, quite different from the other two albums.
