I pondered for some time on how to connect my iPhone 4 to my car radio and in the end plumped for this. I was quite surprised at how cheap it was a did not really expect it to work that well. I was pleasantly surprised. The iPhone sits comfortably in my dash and does not move about too much considering how the connector works. Actually thinking about it, some people might prefer a stronger connector so the phone does not move at all. It is however much better than those stick on the windscreen phone holders. When I used one of those my phone regularly jumped tracks. The setup was easy and the follow rds function works quite nicely. We used it on a very long car journey and the sound quality was fine. Every so often the fm frequency would clash with a local radio station but a quick press on the switch frequency button made my car radio switch to a new frequency clearing the clash. This takes about 1second to do. We did have to do this quite a lot ( ever 20 mins or so) but it's not a big issue. I guess it will be a feature in future models to switch automatically. Anyway the really cool feature was that it transmits all iPhone sound to the car so we typically had music on in the background and the Tom Tom sat nav in the foreground. The music would play nicely until Tom Tom wanted to give me directions. The iPhone would fade the music out then fade in the Tom Tom announcement. This all comes over the car speakers very nicely. Sure thats more an iphone feature but the integration with the rds showing the music being played on the car radio display makes it all seem quite slick. Worth the money.

Only had my 'PG361 iPod Transmitter - CarDock FM Follow Me' for a few days but "it does what it says on the tin", very well. In a very quiet piece of classical music you can hear a whisper of 'interference' so sound reproduction is not as good as playing a CD in-car, however that is getting picky. Only grumble; on another website I understood that this would fit Nano 5G, it does work, but without one of the many supplied support cradles. Cradles supplied with my transmitter were for iphone 1G and 3G, Nano 3G and 4G, Touch and for Video/Classic. Amazon in fairness do not say it is OK for 5G. I will see if Gear4 have a cradle for my Nano 5G.

This is a great little piece of equipment and would have received 5 stars apart from the small problem of jumping songs if you hit a bump or pothole. This trick is to drive carefully! Other than that I can't fault it. It's a cheaper option than going out and buying an expensive car radio with an ipod dock.
